The Data Security Evolution

Controlling Risk in the Age of AI.

Why This is worth your time

This isn’t another high-level AI session. It’s a practical, working discussion focused on what’s actually happening in real environments. This isn’t about AI creating entirely new risks. It’s about AI amplifying existing data governance decisions, making permissions, classification, ownership, and lifecycle management more important than ever.

We’ll walk through:

  • What AI can really see in a typical setup
  • Where things tend to break down from a governance point of view
  • How quickly small issues can turn into bigger risks
  • And what changes when the right controls are in place

No theory, no generic frameworks,  just a clear view of how this plays out in practice.

Bringing together Microsoft's Chief Security Advisor, Lesley Kipling, Quorum Cyber's Data and AI Solution Director, Leon Butler, and real-life customers to explore how AI governance is becoming the next frontier of data risk and compliance.

You’ll also see a live demonstration:

Copilot as an Insider — Risk vs Controlled Reality

Keynote Speaker: Lesley Kipling

Chief Security Advisor, Microsoft

With nearly two decades leading investigations into some of Microsoft’s most complex global cyber incidents, Lesley Kipling brings deep frontline experience in incident response, forensic investigations, and crisis leadership.

Formerly Lead Investigator for Microsoft’s Incident Response team, she now advises organisations worldwide on strengthening resilience and using the power of cloud and automation to contain attacks. Lesley holds an M.Sc. in Forensic Computing from Cranfield University.

In her keynote, Lesley will share how Microsoft views AI governance today, what organisations are underestimating about AI-driven risk, and where governance, compliance, and security must intersect as tools like Microsoft Copilot become embedded in daily operations. She will explore how Microsoft is thinking about Copilot, control, and accountability, and why resilience must be designed in from the outset.

This will be a conversational, insight-led session grounded in real-world experience, not a slide-heavy presentation.
